Because all I think about is food.
I would like to be one of those cooking show people with two ovens. Think about it. Thanksgiving: mom, sisters, and aunts swirling around the kitchen, fighting over if the brussels sprouts or pie should go into the oven. "The brussels sprouts are part of the meal, plus you don't want it smelling all turkey-fied." one says. "But the pie needs time to cool!" another argues. Then you step in and offer, "Put the pie in the lower oven and the brussels sprouts in the top." Aaahhhh. Peacekeeping int he kitchen has never been so easy.

Scout
Sometimes, just sometimes, you catch your pets looking like total dorks. At the risk of turning this ito a photo blog, I bring you Scout. Scout is my 3 year old Sun Conure, and a couple days ago I caught her trying to imitate the cockatiels she loves to hang out with this "one feather up" feather 'do. And no, I definitely did not do this to her--I found her like this one morning, acting like everything was normal (clamoring for treats, of course).

Day 25: Merry Christmas!
...and this was after one round of gifts had been opened!
We had a wonderful Christmas with J's family and my own. Pictured here is my sister's tree, after the second wave of gifts (from my parents and J and myself) ascended upon it. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and New Year!
Day 23: Spice
Westerners may have holly and holly berries to symbolize the holidays, but we Thais have chili peppers.
Day 21: Pa rup pum pum pum
J's relatives from New Orleans came up last Sunday to celebrate the holidays with the rest of us. His mother always puts together a beautiful tree complete with everyone's favorite ornaments and decorations. Here, you can see the drummer boy, which fascinated J as a child (and is ironic considering that "The Little Drummer Boy" is one of J's least favorite Christmas songs).
